FundScout ranger team planning at headquarters, shadowy figures lurking outside

We built FundScout to fix a broken market

Business owners deserve to find funding without surrendering their privacy to an industry built on reselling their contact information.

The problem

When a business owner fills out a single funding application, they rarely hear from one lender. They hear from twenty. And then twenty more over the following months — because their contact information was sold, resold, and sold again to anyone willing to pay.

The lead generation industry runs on borrower data with essentially zero accountability. Unlicensed brokers operate alongside legitimate lenders. Bad actors thrive because there has never been a reliable way to trace where a lead was passed.

Meanwhile, lenders who play by the rules compete against predatory operators for the same contacts — and have no way to demonstrate their credibility before the borrower has already been burned.

What we built instead

Vetted lenders only

Every lender on FundScout goes through license verification, background checks, and reference review before seeing a single lead. Borrowers know who they're talking to.

One application

Borrowers submit once. We match them with lenders who actually work with their business type, loan amount, and state — not a mass broadcast to everyone on the platform.

Proprietary contact protection

We've built technology specifically to prevent your contact information from being misused or resold. The details are not public — that's intentional. The results are.

Accountability built in

Lead misuse is detectable on our platform. Violators face fines, removal, and referral to civil action. Lenders know this before they accept their first lead.

Why we won't explain the protection technology

We get asked how our contact protection works. We don't answer that question publicly — and for a deliberate reason.

The technology works in part because the people who might abuse it don't know exactly how it works. What they know is that misuse is detectable, that we enforce penalties, and that the risk is not worth it. That asymmetry is the point.

What we can tell you is this: the protection is structural. It doesn't rely on borrower action, platform monitoring, or complaint reports. It's built into how every match works, from the moment a lender accepts a lead.
